Glossophobia

The fear of public speaking, also known as  Glossophobia , is one of the most common fears people experience. It can manifest as a range of symptoms, including anxiety, sweaty palms, trembling, and an increased heart rate. I swear, I personally experienced several of these symptoms. This fear can seriously limit one's personal and professional growth.   Fortunately, there are many effective ways to overcome the fear of public speaking. It is part of District 31, which covers eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire.  Quincy Toastmasters started in 1949 and chartered in 1953 has since provided a supportive and welcoming environment for members to improve their communication and leadership skills. It was founded in 1924 by Dr. Ralph Smedley in Santa Ana, California, and has since grown to over 16,000 clubs in more than 145 countries.   The mission of Toastmasters is to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders by providing a supportive and positive learning environment where members can improve their public speaking, listening, and leadership skills. This is achieved through a structured program of speeches, evaluations, and leadership roles, as well as regular meetings and workshops.   Toastmasters meetings are typically held once a week and follow a specific agenda, which includes prepared speeches, impromptu speaking exercises, evaluations, and various leadership roles. Members progress through the program by completing a series of speeches and leadership projects, each designed to develop specific skil
